The design logic of M+ is fundamentally driven by a major site constraint: the MTR Airport Express tunnel running diagonally underneath. Instead of simply avoiding it, Herzog & de Meuron's core concept, under the dimension of **Space & Organization**, was to excavate around the tunnel to create a "found space." This subterranean void became the "Industrial Space," a vast, rugged area for large-scale installations, directly revealing the dialogue between urban infrastructure and art. This strategic move allows the main horizontal exhibition podium to float above a porous public ground floor, establishing a new relationship between infrastructure and the public realm. The building's **Form & Massing**—an inverted 'T'—is a direct response to this programmatic layering, with the vertical slab's facade doubling as a massive LED screen, conceptually reflecting Hong Kong's media-saturated urbanism.
