Scuola primaria Salvatore Orrù
Fagnano Olona, Italy
1972~1976
At the Salvatore Orrù elementary school, the space is organized around a two-level central courtyard connected by a staircase, leading to twenty ground-floor classrooms, making it a defining feature of the building. The design by Aldo Rossi includes a brick chimney and a cylindrical library. The composition of the building is a dialogue of primary geometric forms (cube, cone, cylinder), a central theme in Rossi's "analogical architecture," ultimately forming a structure defined by its spatial organization and formal elements. This approach creates a "human" architecture that dialogues with its urban environment by using the courtyard as a central public square.

1972~1976
